Our editing service will give your manuscript a finished polish.

describe the image Once you have signed up for this editing add-on we will first edit 2,000 words of your book and send this back to you to review – this is to make sure you are happy with the editing service before we edit your entire book. If at this point you decide our editing service is not what you are looking for then you are free to decide not to proceed and we will give you a full refund of your fee.

Payment note: Pay 50% of add-on once we have accepted your book and only pay remaining 50% after the proof stage.

Our editing service will deal with the following as needed:
Correct spelling errors Correct words that can be found easily in a dictionary or a credible on-line resource Correct errors in both singular and plural possessives Correct errors involving words with similar spelling or sound. E.g: – “affect” and “effect” – “it’s” and “its” – “there,” “their,” and “they’re – “two,” too,” and “two” – “where” and “were”
Correct grammar errors – Subject and verb usage – Plural and singular – Tense – Basic syntax (word, sentence and paragraph)
Correct punctuation errors Including: – Commas – Semicolons – Hyphenations – Colons – En dashes and em dashes – Quotation marks – Apostrophes – Run-on sentences
Changes in word choice – Change overused words – May change word choice that more clearly conveys the meaning
Suitable for books with up to: Our editing service is suitable for book with up to 150,000 words.	150,000 words
Editing feedback Once we have copy edited your manuscript we will send you your edited manuscript highlighting all changes our editor has made. At this stage you can send us feedback or changes to the edits, you may also send us other small/minor corrections. You are only allowed to send feedback to the editor once. After the editor has made the changes from your feedback the editing service of our package will have been completed.	1 round of Feedback

Who will copy edit your book?

Our in house UK-based editor is fully qualified with MA (Wales), PhD (London), DLitt (OFS), DEd (SA), was Professor and Head of the Department of English at the University of the North in South Africa for ten years, and Senior Lecturer in English at the University of South Africa before that. He is the author of numerous academic textbooks and literary studies published by Oxford University Press and McGraw-Hill.

What is not included in our editing service

Our editing service does not include the following:

- Making changes to the plot, narrative or characters

- Adding new sections to the manuscript

- Checking for inconsistencies within the text (e.g. name of one of the characters changes part way through)
